Holiday Hometown Hop
Newton is coming together this December for the first-ever Holiday Hometown Hop, powered by the Greater Newton Area Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the City of Newton and Newton Main Street. Planned for December 12–13, the Holiday Hometown Hop will be a weekend full of festive fun and community spirit.
The celebration begins Friday evening, December 12, with MercyOne’s Jingle for a Cure Run, then continues all day Saturday with activities across town. Visitors can shop local at Newton Main Street’s Winter Wonderland Market hosted at Newton’s DMACC Campus, take part in DMACC’s Christmas Celebration, and enjoy special steals and deals at businesses throughout the downtown square.
The weekend concludes Saturday night at Maytag Park with the debut of Enchanted Nights and Holiday Lights. Guests can stroll through sparkling light displays at no cost or purchase pre-sold tickets for a magical ride—a romantic one-horse open sleigh for two, a horse-drawn carriage ride through the park or for those looking for another option, tickets will also be available for a hayrack ride tour through the lights.
However you choose to participate, the Holiday Hometown Hop is all about bringing the community together, celebrating the season, and making new memories in Newton.
Stay tuned for additional details as additional weekend events roll out!
