Westwood Park Golf Course

Westwood is an 18-hole municipal course located just two miles west of Downtown Newton. The course is known for its scenic country view, friendly staff, and long history. In 1927, Bud L. Maytag constructed the front nine holes, which was redesigned in 1988 by Eric Larson, an architect originally from Newton. Westwood features 6,341 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71. The course rating is 70.5, and it has a slope rating of 120 on Blue grass. It is easily accessible off of I-80 at exits 159 or 164 and is located just 35 minutes from the Des Moines Metro. A driving range and two practice greens are available for use, and a well-stocked Pro Shop and Snack Bar is always open to serve our golfing customers.
