Our History

Newton Medicap Pharmacy first opened in February of 1981 and moved to its current location in the Fall of 1996. Julie and RJ McCarey bought the store in July of 1999.

Julie McCarey, R. Ph.
Julie is a native of Clear Lake, Iowa. She graduated in 1990 from Drake University and received a B.S. in Pharmacy. Julie married RJ McCarey in 1990 and they have two kids, Katelyn and Harrison. Julie started working for Medicap in Newton and bought the location in 1999. She purchased Ankeny Medicap in 2005.

Chrissy Breuer, PharmD
Chrissy is a native of Waconia, Minnesota. She graduated in 2003 from South Dakota State University with her PharmD degree. She started working at Newton Medicap in 2003. She married Andy Breuer in 2003 and they have twins, Ben and Claire.
