Jasper County Museum & Historical Society
The Jasper County Historical Museum was dedicated on May 6, 1979. It is the result of the generosity and desire of many Jasper County residents who want to preserve the history of the area for future generations. The museum contains many interesting exhibits utilizing over 8,000 artifacts that have been donated to the society over the years.
Museum Hours Daily 1-4 PM - Tuesday through Sunday
Open: May 1 to September 30. Admission is free for members and Jasper County Residents. ADMISSION for out of county visitors: Adults : $10.00 Students (ages: 11-18): $5.00 Under 10 years: free.
The Jasper County Historical Museum's Research Library is located at the Jasper County Museum. The library is free and open to the general public. Hours: 10- 4 pm Tuesday-Friday, or call for an appointment. Photocopies can be made of non-copy write materials for 20¢ a copy. Research services are also available at a cost of $15 per hour plus the cost of copies (1 to 2 surnames per request & $15 minimum). A $15 check and a stamped self-addressed envelope (S.A.S.E.) should accompany each request.
